The Power of Opposites Ducati renews the XDiavel range by introducing the new version for 2021: the XDiavel Dark. XDiavel, the Ducati cruiser that combines the best of both worlds, is renewed, still remaining true to its philosophy. The new XDiavel Dark comes in matte black to further enhance the strengths of the XDiavel. These strengths include the ability to combine exciting performance, sports bike power and refined electronics with the typical cruiser features: a long low and comfortable bike with advanced footpegs and a powerful torque even at low revs, but also top materials and finishes.
Features may include: • XDiavel Dark The XDiavel Dark enhances the beauty of the Ducati cruiser's shapes thanks to the essential matt black colour. Ducati has a bond of over twenty years with matt black: in 1998, the Monster 600 Dark was the first model with this livery. On the XDiavel Dark, the total black livery has also been extended to the mechanics and finishes, thus enhancing the Ducati "Reduce to the Max" design principle. The XDiavel Dark, the gateway to the XDiavel world, represents its purity and essential nature. ENGINE • Testastretta DVT 1262 The undisputed protagonist of the XDiavel, the Testastretta DVT 1262 twin-cylinder engine, becomes compliant with the new European emissions standard, featuring an updated and newly designed silencer layout and a new engine calibration. As a result, the XDiavel delivers a maximum power output of 160 hp at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 13.0 kgm at 5,000 rpm, with an increase of 8 hp and 0.2 kgm compared to the Euro 4 version. • 5,000 rpm Approximately 80% of the maximum torque of the XDiavel is almost immediately available: at 2,100 rpm. This means you can pick up speed without having to shift down a gear, by sightly opening the throttle. Just like you expect from a cruiser. The torque peak - 13.0 kgm - is reached instead at 5,000 rpm, a pretty low speed for a Ducati twin-cylinder engine. If you want the maximum, when the rev counter pointer reaches 9,500 rpm, the wheel gets 160 hp. (Only for countries where Euro 5 standard applies). CHASSIS • Belt transmission The XDiavel is the first Ducati to use belt final drive. • Forward footpegs When the designers and engineers started to work on the XDiavel, they started from a basic concept: a relaxed riding position, like a real cruiser, with a low seat and forward footpegs. EQUIPMENT • Tyres and wheels The XDiavel features fourteen-spoke rims: 3.5" x 17" at the front and 8" x 17" at the rear. A 120/70 ZR17 tyre is fitted at the front, with a redesigned tread pattern to maximise performance in wet conditions. The rear tyre instead is 240/45 ZR17. The tyres are the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso III. • Riding Mode The XDiavel integrates the latest innovations in Ducati technology, such as Riding Modes
